PRICING & ESTIMATES

ESTIMATES

  • How much rust is there? A little or a lot?
  • Do we have to fabricate new parts or panels or can they be purchased and how many?
  • How long will it take to find new parts?
  • Is this a partial or complete restoration?

I’m often asked to come up with a quote or a price estimate on a project. My response to that is:

All of these questions and many more cannot be answered by a couple of photos or a twenty minute phone conversation. If a shop can give you an estimate or a quote my advice is “be aware” there are too many unforeseen problems. JRA only builds the highest quality projects and to do that it takes time, craftsmanship, and money. Some projects can take 400 hours and others 1200 hours. It is impossible to know how much time it will take to restore or build a car. Let me be completely honest with you, restoring or building a car is not for the faint of heart, it does cost money and in some cases a lot of money however the reward is priceless.

LABOR PRICE

JRA works on a time/material basis only as projects can present themselves with unforeseen obstacles especially with custom work. It is impossible to give a time estimate or a price estimate. We work on a shop rate of $100.00/hour.

PARTS & MATERIALS

At JRA you’re paying for our craftsmanship. We don't markup prices on parts or materials. Our profit is made in our labor cost. We do charge for labor incurred in connection with parts and material procurement.

BILLING

JRA understands how expensive projects can be that is why we keep a very honest and close line of communication with our client. Billing is on a monthly basis. At the end of each month the client will receive an itemized invoice of work performed and parts/materials purchases or used for that project along with photos of the progress for the month. All parts purchased for the project will be bought on a credit card provided by the client and all receipts will be mailed along with the monthly invoice to the client for their records.

Please take the time and look at past projects and current projects.
